Cherokee National Forest
Harmony Zero. In the Cherokee National
Forest near the small town of Harmony Grove this circle was crafted out
of fall colored leaves upon the stump of one of many large recently high
graded trees in the area. 'High grading'is a widely practiced logging method
that has contributed to the long decline in the quality of timber coming
from our forests. Big trees like the one cut here are relatively uncommon
in eastern forests. To help protect Tennessee forests.

Tire Zero. A tire dumped in this once
beautiful grove of large second growth makes the obvious statement about
what needs to happen in the Cherokee: Zero Cut!
